Recommended Route Johannesburg Take the N3 (Durban road) from Johannesburg towards Durban.After approximately 475 km leave the N3 at Howick and take the road to Bulwer (R617). Continue along the R617 through Bulwer, Underberg and Swartberg to Kokstad.

From Kokstad take the Umtata road (N2) for 16km to Brook's Nek. At Brook's Nek turn left to Fort Donald, Flagstaff, Lusikisiki, Port St Johns.

Note: After crossing the bridge at Port St Johns turn right into the Umtata road (R61) for 10.5km to the Umngazi turn-off. Turn left, and enjoy the next 11km to Umngazi River Bungalows. TOTAL About 850 km. Allow 10 hours including pit stops.
