Whether you are coming from Durban or Pietermaritzburg be sure to take the Shongweni / Assagay turn off onto Kassier Road, which crosses over both highways, the N3 and the M13.

From Durban/Pinetown, if you come up the N3, it is the first off-ramp after the Marianhill Toll Plaza, if you come up the M13 via Fields Hill, it is the second off-ramp after the main Hillcrest off-ramp. You turn right onto Kassier Road (North)

From Pietermaritzburg side, immediately after the Key Ridge climb and the split of the N3 & M13, off either freeway, it is the first off-ramp and you turn left onto Kassier Road (North).

Remain on Kassier Road for about 3,5 kilometres and at the robots (traffic lights) turn left into Old Main Road. The road is a steep and winding road, which you follow for about 3km passing the Sugar Loaf Centre, the Fainting Goat Centre, Kearsney College school, an Engen Petrol filling station (all on your left hand side). Shortly after the Filling station, the road becomes very windy. Drive slowly so you don’t miss the sharp left turn down into Lello Road. The road is immediately before the Heidie Farm Stall complex and 1000 Hills Bird Park. Continue down Lello Road for approximately 1,5 kilometres. You will see Macnut Farm on your left-hand side at the third storm water ditch.
