Malagas Hotel is a 45 room "Old Cape styled establishment, Plus 6 cabins on the River Queen (house boat ) which provides elegant and comfortable accommodation, well-prepared meals and old-fashioned hospitality. Our top priority is to provide our guests with tranquility and relaxation, that “home" -away -from – home "atmosphere and complete peace of mind during their stay with us.

The Hotel has twenty six twin rooms, eighteen family rooms (3 beds) and four large family rooms,
(4 beds). Some family and large family rooms are fitted with a king-size bed, single bed as well as a fold up sleeper couch that doubles as a day couch. Bedding is NOT supplied for the sleeper couches, all rooms have satellite TV, Coffee/tea making facilities as well as hairdryers.

We have a fine restaurant, and our meals are best described as traditional “South African Home Cooking". Dinners are a five course set menu. We cater for vegetarians and Halaal on request. A hearty "South African Breakfast" is available and Pub Lunches is served in our "Moxies" Bar, or our large deck overlooking the river.

A private lounge for adult residents upstairs, as well as library, is provided for your relaxation.

We have two conference centers that can accommodate up to 160 & 64 people respectively. Each has an overhead projector, Large TV, Video machine, Powerful sound system and flipcharts are supplied for your use.

Water sport activities are very much the focus at the Breede River. 18 wide bodied, stable canoes, lifejackets, and small motorboats are available for hire. Birdlife is excellent with fish eagle, kingfisher, Osprey, Egyptian geese and ducks often seen. 197 bird species has been identified. There is a swimming pool and volleyball nets for recreation as well as a trampoline, large lawns, small beach on the river and private jetty, which is the home base for our Breede river Dream cruiser Houseboats.

The Breede River is recognized as the best estuary fishing in South Africa, with Cob, Grunter, Steenbras, Leervis and many sought after species being caught in significant numbers by casual visitors and light-tackle enthusiasts. In close proximity is De Hoop Nature reserve and Bontebok National Parks .Whale watching and deep sea fishing at Witsand can be arranged .Adventure activities like horse riding, 240 m high foefieslide, abseiling and 4x4 trails are available in the area. All this a mere 2.5 hours from Cape Town.

The hotel is situated on the banks of the Breede River with river frontage and overlooks the “Pont”. We also have a swimming pool, volleyball, trampoline and treasure hunt. There are also beautiful walking paths and stunning bird life for early-morning team walks/activities. Then, in the evening, a comfortable pub and Karaoke system ensures fun and relaxation for our delegates, while outdoors cooking e.g. braai, potjie or stirfry are ideally catered for on the wide verandas on both sides of the hotel.

Our proximity to the river lends itself ideally to water sports and a variety of team building activities. To this purpose we have 18 wide-bodied canoes for use by delegates. Together with the above, we also have two well-equipped conference venues and the peaceful ambience of the area is especially conducive to successful and productive interchange.
