Activities at Carryblaire River Retreat Conference Venue in Parys, Free State
River Rafting We offer two types of rafting. The first is a nature raft from Carryblaire approx 5 Km down river and is a must for nature lovers. Trip takes approx 1 Hour and includes drinks and transport and requires a min of 4 people. The second is a White Water Raft and is done on a separate section of the Vaal River. This trip takes approx 4 Hours and includes drinks and transport. Requires a minimum of 6 people. River Rafting is seasonal and rapid grades depend on water flow. All rafting is conducted by qualified guides. Game Drives Game drives are offered on a farm 3 Km from Carryblaire. The trip includes a visit to a cheetah breeding project followed by a game drive where several species of antelope as well as rhino, buffalo and giraffe can be viewed. Min 6 people and is approx 2 Hours. Vredefort Dome Tours Recently declared a World Heritage Site the Vredefort Dome is approx 300 Km in diameter. Not much can be seen unless you are guided by a professional natural scientist and geologist. Half day and full days tours available and both include lunch and refreshments and start at Carryblaire. Trips require a minimum of 6 people. Quad Biking Our most popular activity and conducted on either a 2km track on a local game farm or combined with a game drive. Due to your own safety and our local conservancy all quad biking is guided in both cases. Paint Ball and Archery The above are both great fun and can be done at Carryblaire. Perfect to be included as part of a team building exercise. Abseiling Abseiling is offered off a 12m cliff on a nearby farm and conducted by qualified personal. Team Building We can arrange several types of team building exercises for your group from Lego building to Fire Walking and games such as Amazing Race and Survivor...
